Sydney Hybrid? Citrus virgitata

Maybe citrus garraway?

Just looks stubby for a fingerlime and doesnt have the point at the end. But there is alot of variation. Is it a seedling? This is a green one similar to one i have.

Unlikely to be garrawayi which does actually have the appearance of a finger lime if not hybridized.

It's most probably a hybrid of garrawayi or perhaps even the Gympie lime. Australian citrus hybridiize extremely easily.  There is also another native lime endemic to the mt Tamborine area that is small and round and is another possible contender.

In any case it will be a poor representation of how good finger limes can be and should probably be discarded.

Carlos the seeds I'm sending you are going to be from an extremely good cv.

Hybrid was my first guess. Either a round lime fingerlime hybrid or perhaps even an exotic like an eremolemon. My garrawayi hasnt fruited yet but its flowering.

I've cut my collection down pretty significantly this year. I'm now only growing finger limes and the desert lime, the latter doesn't seem to like the humidity in Brisbane too much though. Ugly plant.

They are. I have a couple of fingerlimes, a garrawayi, an inodora and an australis. I did have a glaucus but they are finicky and  a little  ugly. I also found a supply of gracilis but apparently they are worse to keep alive.

That's one ugly hybrid. It's pithy and lacks the caviar, so it's hardly a fingerlime anymore. The egg shape is common for hybrids. The recent blood hybrid looked quite similar, but red and was a hybrid with sour mandarin. Looks like it crossed with a wild lime or maybe even rough orange by the pith.
