World's largest Cashew tree (Natal, Brazil)

I was watching a show about Brazil on PBS the other night and they showed the Maior Cajueiro do Mundo, which is a cashew tree that takes up/covers 80,000 square feet and supports something like 1500 families.  I had never heard of this tree before, but it seems pretty famous so many of you probably already know about it.  For those that don't, enjoy!

Amazing tree... funny to see how people post anything on internet without any checking... one of the post says that the Cashew is 1000 years old LOL, the other gave us the exacta date of planting, and more detailed info, "just" 177 years.

I checked and the 180 years is the accurate one.  Apparently this is the largest fruit tree in the world. I wonder if this botanic anomaly will transmit to the seeds???

I  visited this tree area. It is quite impressive! Genetic mutation at its best! I hope Monsanto is not involved! Ahahahahahahah

The sand dunes around that area were so beautiful with all the different colored layers of sand from red to white.  They have insane sand art in that area.  The video I watched talked about fresh cashew juice being delicious.  It was crazy when he was climbing through the "forest" which was really just one tree.  Kind of reminded me of the sea grape dune areas here in Florida.

how cool it would be walk around in the middle of a hot summer day....

a little niggling correction though - 80,000 square FEET is less
than 2 acres.... (1 Acre = 43,560 Square Feet)

Has that huge cashew tree expanded by dropping branches to the ground that root, or by root suckers?  It seems impossible a tree that expansive could be nourished only from the main trunk.

it has a mutation that allows it to grow horizontally and root when it touches the ground was what they said on the video
