Loquat in tropics

Will Loquat do ok in tropics? Will the fruit be of lesser quality? What are there factors of chill, humidity, water or heat that will effect the chances of fruiting this subtropical? Trying to read up on it but not getting anything clear so thought I would ask here

I can tell you that we have 80+% humidity most of the year, 100 degrees regularly in the summer and no frost some winters and they seem to produce reliably here. If we have a bad winter the blossoms drop and no fruit the following spring. I've never tried to correlate fruit quality to chill hours. In my experience some trees just make better fruit than others regardless of conditions. I have to think they would do well in a tropical environment.

There are plenty of trees here and they don't seem to have a problem flowering in our mild winters.
The major problem is fruit fly larve
