PPC—Phet Pak Chong atemoya question
« on: December 24, 2020, 11:34:58 AM »
Hi All,

This is my first time harvest PPC fruit.  I want to know when is it ready to eat?

Thanks,
Al

Nice looking fruit.
I will let others who have PPC chime in but when you press on it, does it give?
I think feel may be more helpful in telling when it is ready to eat.

When it's getting soft it's ready to eat.

Treat it like any other atemoya or sugar apple.

I trimmed my PPC on April Fool's.
Flower emerged but all dead before bloom.

Did you trim your PPC and when?

Tell us what you think of the fruit, is it better than a normal sugar apple? I think it tastes the same.

To me its like a firmer, less seedy sugar apple.  Maybe with a hint of a complexity that you find in a cherimoya.

My opinion as well.  I've enjoyed it a lot, and it was one hell of a vigorous tree for me.
