Rambutan leaf edges turning brown
« on: September 22, 2019, 07:01:14 AM »
I have this grafted Rambutan in an air-pot and it seems to be doing poorly. The edges of the leaves are turning brown slowly and there seems to be no new growth on the plant. Need help in identifying if this issue is due to a salt build up or whether it's a disease. Thanks in advance.

My rambutans also have that, nothing helps to stop it.

Maybe it is too warm where you are? I think my land is too warm for rambutan.

Might be water quality ,total dissolved solids.

The TDS (total dissolved solids) of water being use to water the plant is tested at below 100.

What type of fertilizer do you use? Do you live in arid climate? Not enough potassium and minors?

I live in a sub-tropical area which has three months of heavy rain and scattered rain for the rest of the year. I'm currently using vermicompost and seaweed extract on my plants. No other fertilizers. Soil ph is slightly on the alkaline side at approx 7.5

Thank you. I was wondering if inarching another healthy seedling onto a phytophthora affected plant will save the upper part of the plant? Suggestions are welcome.

My rambutan has 2 different rootstocks and also the leave problem most of the year...but sometimes the leaves look good.
