Any Juliette mango opinions? I saw one at the nursery today.

Just might buy this Juliette, depending on what members say here. Taste and productivity are what I look for. This tree grows more vigorously than Julie mango from what I hear.

From the one my dad is growing here are my observations.

Med-Low vigor
Vertical growing habit.
In the ground for about 3-4 years from a 7 gallon.
No fruit yet but got rattled by Irma pretty bad.

Love the taste, I remember it having a slight gritty texture like pear?, cannot comment on production. Ihave  seedling growing.

I have a 7 yr old tree.
Productive. Sometimes in clusters.
Pretty compact and bushy with 7-8" growth flushes- but more vigor than Julie.
Responds really well to tipping.
Brix in the mid 20s.
Fruit size on the medium-small, small side.
Mostly Fiber-less. Flavor profile more towards the "Gary" side (but I haven't detected any coco-nutty flavor).
 Doesn't taste like Julie.
I haven't had any worrying disease issues. A keeper in my small yard.

I have a 10 year old tree. It is the worst fruit out of 25 varieties I have. Though it has borne some fruit not nearly as much as many others and many of the fruit have had significant fiber and didn't have exceptional taste.
I am considering topworking it or removing to give more room to adjacent trees which make better fruit.

I had 6 or 7 fruit from my young tree this year and was didsapointed ....... I was thinking I should not rush to judgment because of the age of the tree but it would really need to do something amazing to be something I would want to keep

I have a graft on my Bombay. Seems fairly vigorous to me.

I got to taste a few from Tropical Acres. Agreed that it does not taste like Julie. Tastes like a mixture of Super Julie and Graham to me. Not in the league of Super Julie (which is amazing) but better than Graham. I really like Juliette.

Young mango tree can produce very non-representative fruits. I saw this with my young Neelam tree/ It produced 12 fruits in year four and after biting into three I picked all the others and tossed them.

Flavor was nothing special.  Fruit is small.  It would not make my list for a tree I would plant.  Flavor is slightly spicy like a Julie.  I gave it a 7 score last time I tried one.  Get a Carrie or Glenn if you don't already have one.

I am going to pass on Juliette mango. If anyone wants it go to Tropic Plants on University in Tamarac. It is a very well built 3 gallon tree. Stout and branched out.

They have a very nice large Brogdan avocado too. $150. Very green and tall and ready to zoom. Lots of Nam Doc Mai and Julie mango. A Pina Colada and another Orange Sherbet in 7 gallon. Fairchild mango. Kesar They have a large (diverse) mango and avocado selection.
