nice big flowers. what does inside of those fruits look like and how is the taste comparative to typical passion fruit?
-
Honestly... it's interior looks like a typical Passion Fruit... only much bigger. More pulp etc.
The fruit in the photo is sitting next to a Frederick fruit.
The taste is similar as well.

I still have plenty of these in stock!

Does it need a cross to produce fruit ?
-
I would say... yes.
Mine grew in the presence of Frederick and Incarnata.
If you are interested... I can bundle an Incarnata with Ruby Glow at a discount.

I noticed last season that the my Ruby Glow fruit interior rind had sort of a "Melony" texture and was definitely eatable.
Anyone else experience this?

Got my Ruby Glow plants in the mail. They were packaged great. USPS took longer then expected to deliver the package but no one could of predicted the slow delivery. Kevin is a great seller. I highly recommended.

Shipping next Monday to avoid this heat wave.
Don't want your plants to cook in some truck or warehouse over the weekend.
Thanks!

Hi Kevin,
Can you share your favorite methods of propagating the passion fruit please
Thanks alot

Very easy PJ ...
Cut off 6 inch growth tip... Remove the very end tip, any tendrils and all but 2 leaves... Cut the 2 leaves in half with scissors... Dip in rooting hormone... stick them in a pot of soil... wet thoroughly... cover with a plastic bag with a couple of air holes in it... Place in a shady area... Sprinkle with water as often as possible, (removing the bag first)... watch for new growth... In a couple of weeks start checking for roots.
I like to do multiple cuttings in a single pot.
Rule of thumb... If they start growing and are green, they are alive and rooted... If they turn brown, they are dead!
Hope that helps!

The Incarnata is a great grower.
Where I live we get winter freezing temps which nips it back... but then it sprouts back and really takes off in the spring.
Blooms constantly too... until a freeze.
Because of the intense blooming I would plant it where it can climb and be appreciated. Really beautiful!
I grow Ruby Glow in my greenhouse... in the ground.
I've tried planting it outside... but here it won't come back from the roots like Incarnata does.
Much more tender and tropical in nature.
It blooms in the late Summer into Fall.
Both have a typical Passion Fruit taste... the Ruby Glow is much larger of the 2 with a yellow football shape when ripe.
The Incarnata has smaller egg shaped fruit.
Here's a photo of an unripe Incarnata fruit:

Here's a Ruby Glow fruit with a Frederick (Edulis):

For maximum fruiting... they both benefit from cross pollination with another variety like edulis.
I have done hand pollination and bumble bee pollination... both with success.

Not many people quote Kenny Rogers when offering passionfruit plants so that is worth an extra view or two.
