Guabiju tree? Not is Psidium eugeniaefolia
« on: May 01, 2017, 02:40:32 PM »
A couple of years ago I bought some seeds in PR of Guabiju, and they came out to be of Psidium eugeniaefolia . The tree is with fruits and Adam just made it clear that it is not Guabiju. I think I'm a little disillusioned with my two trees. I think that someone in the Forum happened the same thing with seeds of those bought in PR.

Yes, i had the same thing happen to me. I posted about it before. Did you buy your seeds from Vivero Anones? They had the seeds misidentified.

Hi Oscar
If I bought them in Vivero Anones, she told me that that year that I bought the seeds from the fruits gave them worms and could only sell seeds of those fruits. So she saw the fruits but it seems she did not know what Guabiju was.

Guabiju is Myrcianthes pungens. The leaves of guabiju have a sharp pointy thorn on the end of the leaf. For a while i was fooled into thinking i had a thornless guabiju. HAHA
