The designs that use large tubes underground and route the cool air to the green house seems like a great design that way you can cool in summer and heat greenhouse in the winter using underground temps but as I understand it you still need fans to move large volumes of air out the top in the summer time, anyone using that design ?

Some great ideas I didn't think about solar powered vent fans at top, shade cloth might not be an option on tall design unless below grade and large shade cloth kinda pricy, building into side of hill  seems like it would moderate temps in winter and summer both or going six to eight feet below grade seems like it could help alot, and yes I would use misters also if I struggled to keep temps down on 105 degree days outside temps.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Avocado seeds wanted

Wanted avocado seeds Zutano, Bacon,Duke, and others I will pay  20 cents a seed or perhaps higher, plus I pay shipping cost, let me know  what you have price and how many, I need alot.

Any avo graft will die if it gets cold enough doesn't matter how cold hardy the seed is, the trick is protecting graft and top growth esp the first several years in the ground, if tree is older and graft is protected then with major dieback the tree can come back, lights tents water electric heaters they all can save a life if used properly.

Looking for ideas to cool green house in summer ...I'm I better to build one into side of a hill or design passive cooling pipes 10 feet underground and vent the hot air out the roof trying not to use any electricity if possible.

I recently grafted some dailey 11 avocado trees does anyone have producing trees? what is the quality of fruit ive read reports of ratings( fair to good),someone said watery and another said can be sweet tasting, im looking for more opinions.

I have acres in foothills out of central valley cali so will be planted in ground there down the road, i grow in my house now, have no greenhouse till i get moved.

92
This year only a few hundred would be enough next year approx 1000 to 2000 needed, fair price to me is 5 to 20 cents each for bare seeds, would pay higher if only found entire fruit and not just seeds.

Hi Brad so are they shipped in a 15 dollar flat rate box and so price for avocados out of state is 11 dollars is that correct ?

95
To nexxogen, let us know how your stewart seeds do for you ive tryed mexicola before and got a very small- slow growing seedling, but seed was super tiny so i guess it that fits, the seedling in pot though so suspect if in the ground it would likely grow much better.

To ken excellent second opion report on aravaipa fruit on both taste and tree decription it sounds like aravaipa is very much worth growing ill send a 1 pic of 1 of my new aravaipa grafts on zutano seed.aravp is left in picture next to jan boyce on the right

97
Are they average to large zutano?im trying to get on the larger side if possible, i thinking seeds will last decent 30 to 90 days or so if you have any room in a fridge stored in moist paper towel in plastic bags.shoot me a price per seed and if they have to be picked up in what town or if they can be shipped.

98
Wanted zutano avocado seeds they would need to be shipped- unless source is comming from from central valley in cal, also might be interested in bacon or fuerte seeds if cheap enough.

99
Tucsonken thanks for writing more detail on taste of aravaipa fruit it sounds like its not too bad i hear mixed reports what it taste like, it doesnt sound any worse than taste of a duke, i have both trees in my collection as i have an interest in cold hardy types that taste decent, im wondering if aravaipa fruit is about same as a bacon fruit which can have a bit of watery taste and mild taste.Do you know if they have an interest in selling me a few aravaipa seeds and what was the seed like on the small or large side ?

100
Did you ever find your seeds i might have bacon seeds avail for 50 cents each plus ship cost, approx how many seeds are you after, Duke seed season over in northern cal and pretty hard to find at least for me.I have duke trees but going to be years before i get any fruit.
