Kaz,

   I don't see any photos.

Vincent.

Ok, I see at least 7 people interested so I will air-layer about 10 branches. If more people commit/advance order by end of August then I will add additional air-layers.

See the updated photos which was added tonight.

Kaz,

I was able to get another person who would like one. So please put me down for two.

Thanks,
Vincent.

I would be interested in one as well. Put me on your list.

Thanks,
Vincent.

Just need to get some idea of how many people would be interested in purchasing an air-layered Brewster Lychee plant.

Please reply on this post, if I see around 5-10 people interested then I will air-layer some to be sold next year.

My Brewster tree is over 30 years old, get tons of fruit (50 pounds ?) every year. Tastes good, seeds are big.

Sale would be to lower 48 states. Price is TBD for now.

I will posts some photos of the fruits I harvested over the weekend, and some tree photos as well.

Thanks.

Yes you can.

My shipment were very similar to these in the picture.

It had over 90% of 10lbs - damage, rotten, mushed, and smashed. there doesn't seem to be any rigid to support the box from fruit being damage.

We were only able to save some pieces here and there. those that weren't damage were very good. I haven't had fresh Mangostine in a very long time.

vincent.

I'm sorry that that happened. You can post pictures of the open fruits. What you advise me of the shipment, I tell you that if I send a package to the Fl on Monday in the afternoon, Thursday arrives according to the experience I have had sending packages, they are the same days that it is taken from Friday afternoon to Monday because on Sunday the package follows its destiny. Always all my packages I have covered tape and I had never had problems until now that you tell me what happened with your package.

Yes, I fully understand how long it takes for a package to arrive from PR. The reason I am suggesting to mail only Mon-Wednesday is that if you mail on Thursday it will sit on Sunday, instead of being delivered. Delivery will take 4 days instead of 3 days. Friday can be okay, but sometimes it only takes 2 days from PR and that means the chance it had at delivering on day two is gone because day 2 fell on a Sunday. Just some helpful advice.

The too much tape is definitely an issue. It causes the box to retain moisture. Some of my fruit were moldy because of it and overall everything had a bad odor.

Here are the images:

Very similar to mine which also arrived today, about 2/3rds of them moldy, smashed, rotten... 😭

Brad,

I’m asking how much are you selling your cuttings.

Vincent

Brad,

How are you selling the cuttings?

Vincent

It takes many months to get them rooted and growing but I will make more.  Can also sell cuttings for a buck if you guys want those.  What I do is fill a 1gal pot with potting mix then stick 5 or 6 cuttings in and stick it in the shade.  Usually a few of them spring roots and take off the rest die off.   So if you get a bunch of cuttigs its likely you would get some takers.

I don't know what you are asking?  I take cuttings and put in a plastic bag with wetted paper towel and send it.  Is that what you were asking?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Thai sweet pink Tamarind ripening?
« on: February 08, 2019, 06:09:13 PM »
Hello,

To me in the past when I eat Tamarind, when you squeeze the shell it crack. That may be too ripe for you. When almost ripe it should have space between shell and the meat. The meat shrink as it ripens.

I like it when it almost ripe as it is sweet and a sour.

HEllo,

I'm no expert, but here's my opinion.

1. Grafted plants
2. Air-Layer plants
3. Cutting plants
4. seedling plants
