Hey guys i planted my sweet tart that I bought from bender. The other day I saw the bottom and it appeared to crack. Dont know if this was from my landscaper a critter or what. I took photos of the overall condition of the tree should I keep trying to maintain and keep it?

It should heal over as the tree takes off in growth. If it were my tree, I would increase the "no grass area" at the base to a 4-5 feet diameter and buy a trunk guard/ protector (most Wal-Marts garden section for ~$2....grey).

Would this have any affect in fruit yield in the coming years?

Keep that baby well staked at least for 12 more months as that gap starts healing over next spring. You have a good looking leafed out tree, I think it will heal up during next years warm months. Next spring keep well watered and well fertilized to boost growth over that ugly spot.
Even this fall it will heal up a bit but the real takeoff starts next February-March.

I don't think so. It will heal up.
Those green ties, do they need to be loosened?

Now that I think of it, I added the stake right after hurricane Dorian, that's what might of caused the damage. I kept it tight right after due to the wind gusts. I'll loosen the ties tomorrow.

A jackrabbit ate the bark off a few of my trees a couple years ago and they have all healed back up. They were worse than yours.
