We've got a few young ones in the ground. It'll be a couple more years I hope.

Micah and Luc, are your plants in full sun or partial shade?

Hi it's Micah , my new account
Both, the ones in the sun seem to be healthier.  All were outplanted with some shade cloth cages.
Some I put under gliricidia tee for it to climb upon, but it seems too shady cause they are growing a lot slower than the one in full sun next to a coconut seedling. Yup slow....

Thank for replying.  I'm confused with the type this plant would grow into.  Almost all websites with information about this saba mentions that it could either be a liana or a shrub ??? ??? ??? depending on the location and climate.

I have received a few seeds of saba senegalensis.  I have placed them in water now.  I will change water twice every half day and then place the seeds in the potting mix.  Is that the right thing to do?

Here's someone's experience on madd at a local market in Dakar, Senegal.  It's in French, but I used Google Translate.  According to this article, it takes 5-7 years for first fruiting :o?  Also, it mentions about some project at a research center due to which the time has been drastically reduced to 2 years.

I don't know why, but ISRA (l’Institut sénégalais de recherche agricole) shows up as Israel in Google Translate ??? ???

Here's the Original article

and here's the English translation
