Was browsing the internet when I found this article. Trying not to get too excited yet in case this article is fake.

You could grow one in a greenhouse for sure.  Indoors could mean a lot of things.  I don't know much about theobroma but I suspect they prefer more humidity than you'd want in your living space.   TomekK apparently has a bunch of them growing in containers in Virginia.

We have a TFF member that's fruited cacao outdoors in a greenhouse in Idaho. But that is a lot more controlled environment than fruiting them inside your house. You would need very good lighting and a humidifier.
This clues me that the person writing this article does not know much about cacao: "That’s not bad [fruiting 2-3 pods indoor] when you consider a tree growing outdoors in the tropics produces only 20 pods a year." This is patently false. I'm looking out my window now at a cacao tree that has over 50 pods on it right now. And it is not unusual for large cacao trees to have more than 100 pods at once.
