Being an Australian growing up in north QLD I never really considered there would be a better option thank Kensington Pride, but realise there are loads of varieties and interested to hear people opinions.

Ha ha ha! You really are new to this forum, aren't you? It's going to be seven years old next month, and a good number of the threads concern the particulars of the hundreds of mango varieties grown by members. Naming the best mango variety is somewhat akin to naming the most beautiful woman in the world. But most of us will agree it's probably NOT Kensington Pride.

Some of the newer Zill varieties have not been sampled enough to conclude if they are consistently excellent.

Kensington Pride is aptly named because I've noticed Australians have a lot of pride in it :)
Maybe we should have a Florida Pride mango?

Sweet Tart & Lemon Zest are consistently mentioned in high regards

Best mango Variety?
I will only respond to growth and in that regard, Coconut Cream is Number 1 at my location. My Grafted two-year-old tree is doing very well. (see Photo)
In two years it has outgrown other mango cultivars here in Calif. I do not know why but in our mild climate CC does well indeed.
My Lemon Zest appears to be #2 in terms of growth but I need more time to make that determination.
Sweet Tart is #3 in terms of growth at my So Cal location.
More information is needed to draw any long-term conclusions but there are many new exciting varieties now becoming available thanks to zill.

Looks amazing! I'm not too far from you. What root stock is that CC on, and from where did you get it? Thanks!
-
My CC is on Laverne Manila Root-Stock. I grafted it myself in the summer of 2016. Seems to be constantly flushing (at least a few limbs).
I did some mild trimming in the summer on the lateral shoots to force more of an upward growth as the Coconut Cream has a tendency to spread wide.
I wish my other mango trees were this vigorous.

Manila type rootstocks work great

Yeah I’m glad people in SoCal are starting to use proper rootstocks.
LZ, Sweet Tart, CAC, PPK, Kesar, Pineapple Pleasure are some excellent varieties to grow.
