Transplant Avovado Tree with Flowers
« on: May 06, 2020, 05:04:56 PM »
Hello Everyone. I picked up this Catalina avocado tree and I want to plant it in my backyard. Is now a good time to transplant it? I read over 10 articles saying that the best time is between spring and early summer, but the tree has flowers. Is it OK to transplant while flowering? Please share your thoughts.

I'm not sure what your temperatures are like now, but if it's not extremely hot, I think it's worth planting your tree when you can. It would be best to whitewash the trunk and branches of your tree since you don't have enough foliage to shade the tree, and it will be prone to sunburn. I use IV Organic 3-in-1, but you can do 50% white indoor latex paint with water. And I would cut off the blooms to allow your tree to establish itself this year.
