Thorns on Root Cuttings (?)

when preparing citrus root cuttings, do you remove the thorns ?
is it detrimental to the plant if they are removed ?
or ~ does it really matter one way or the other.
I just got several "rootable" cuttings from a friend and I am not
particularly fond of working with the prickly parts.

I use nail clippers & cut the thorns off.

some were over an inch long.  I just clipped them off.
I guess they are like fingernails - they'll grow back in time (I guess).
will find out in a month or so if the cuttings take root - or not.

It make no difference whether you leave the thorns on or clip them off, as far as the rooting is concerned.  Removing the thorns makes handling easier .
