Nishikawa vs wurtz vs other
« on: July 05, 2016, 10:56:33 AM »
Hello everyone! Looking to add one avocado tree to my new yard this summer. Looking for a higher oil content avocado that will do well in pinellas county with a medium growth habit.  Used the forum search but still cannot decide. Also, please let me know if either if these two need a second tree for better pollination. Going down to the mango festival this weekend and looking to pick a tree up on the way.

Thanks!

For your area, I would go with Day. Wurtz or Lula, in no particular order.   They are all exxellent avocados that would fit your requirements plus have a little more cold tolerance.  Day is early season, Wurtz is later part of mid season and Lula is late aeason.

Thanks Rob! I plan on picking a wurtz tree up on Friday or Saturday at excalibur. Do you know if they have any? Also looking for a bankok lemon jackfruit, a pink variegated guava, variegated cassava and red lady papaya. Thanks!!
