Fernandez Custard Apple (Annona reticulata)
« on: June 06, 2012, 01:43:58 PM »
OK Folks, this Fernandez Custard Apple (Annona reticulata) was posted here by Zands. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=220272454669740&set=a.220272451336407.62567.133447883352198&type=3&theater

I called Lara Farms and they wouldnt ship plant to CA, and wouldnt give out the scion either.  Does anyone has this in their yard and is willing to share a scion or two?

Also need 'Genova Red' Ilama as well

Would really appreciate it. Obviously will pay for it.

Behl

It is sad that we dont have access to these plants. Those who have them wont ship. CA sucks! Wish someone could get few scions, then CA is mute!

Behl I wouldn't sweat it too much if you don't have the right rootstock. I have been told that Reticulata doesn't take on Cherimoya rootstock. Personally, I haven't had any success to report.

As far as the Ilama, I don't think that there's a lot of it available on the market right now. Excalibur is out until next year. I don't know who else has them available for sale.

Lets see if we can get scions of Ilama then. Harry is a good source but he must be swamped with many many requests.
