Tropical Fruit Discussion / Help ID this Macadamia Nut Variety

I have a few large mature macadamia nut trees in my San Diego neighborhood. The owners of the property are elderly and can't recall have any information on the variety. The trees are 30-40' tall, fairly upright, and produce superior quality large nuts with bulk of the nuts ripening around December. Can anyone help ID the variety?
The leaves are not as spiky as other hybrid varieties and the nut shells/husks are smooth.
Here are a few photos. The large nuts are compared against the normal size macadamia nuts found around here.
