Looking for White Sapote Tree
« on: March 06, 2020, 12:23:33 AM »
Anyone have a white sapote tree for sale or know where to get one in the LA/Ventura area? Any variety is okay except Suebelle (heard its not that good). Thanks

My friend grows Suebelle in Cerritos area, the fruits are delicious. I bought one from Mimosa last summer for $40. They have like 50 trees last August. Maybe they will restock again soon.Check on your local home depot from time to time. They usually carry Vernon and Suebelle, but my friend said Vernon does not taste good.

I would say that you should try it first from a mature tree before discounting it.

In the event you decide it's not to your liking, removing that branch in favor of allowing another variety to dominate is possible.

Make sure to plant it in a place where it is acceptable for fruit grenades to land.
