I practically had to leave my state to try this fruit and I can't wait to be more Jabo self sufficient with my own tree's! The Red Jaboticaba were delicious at all the stages of ripeness and I did find them a little more pleasant than the Sabara I've tried, I felt like more complex flavored I liked more with less tannin.
Pitangatuba was ready to explode , very squishy. The texture was mostly like apricot for me with good texture and hints 'o sour. I'll need  to try more to wrap my head all the way around it, 1 did make me want more. I highly recommend anyone in the lower legal 46 get in line, worth it for seeds alone. i need to try more of these Brazilian fruits your growing flying fox, step up production already you 1 man watering machine!

So you want me, BearDog and gunnar429 to wait, agonize and suffer because you are too lazy to pick fruit tomorrow.
How about picking enough for just one box tomorrow ;D

you mustn't rush perfection! (the longer the fruit sits on the tree the better!)  ;D

ever since I started my own nursery, I've come to realize, it's hard work being a lazy turd, who has to work all the time!  :P

I might have some ready to ship tomorrow!

Mangobaby is first in line!

there is a good chance that I can get them out tomorrow, at least 2 boxes...

I will send an email soon requesting addresses from Mangobaby (I already have it probably), and BearDog.

Got mine today...............horrible...................they are all gone :(  UPS rang doorbell. I took package to kitchen, opened it, wife came around the corner and said what is that?  Said Red Jaboticaba. She said Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!  From where?  and next thing I know I am racing to shove em in my mouth, with she cheated cuz she ate the skins.  Delicious and great to know I planted my red jabo last year after tasting Sabara.  But was told I might like Red better, and could not agree more.  BUT will eventually have both in the yard LOL

Damn Tasty fruit, Adam.  A couple of my coworkers tried them and also the miracle fruit (followed by lemon, of course).  Expanding their minds!

Enjoyed some of the miracle fruits myself with lemon (which I've tried before) and also some pickles.  Even dill pickles from the store apparently still have a crap load of sugar.  I then tried some of my homemade pickled okra which - while delicious to begin with - has an incredible sweetness to it (I added no sugar when I made it).  Definitely recommend!  Adam, in addition to the jabo and miracle fruits, there were three tiny red fruits.  Were those Muntingia?

I definitely don't hate them.  They were sweet but perhaps a little dried.  My wife is a big fan!  Very hard to save seeds from :)  I didn't bother trying because I hadn't tasted them yet.  I've had bad luck with this species so far.  I had some seeds two years ago from trade winds but they didn't germinate (like most stuff from them it seems).  I've had two plants from Logee's and managed to kill both of them.  I suspect they may be very sensitive to overwatering (at least when they're young).  Or maybe they just didn't like being shipped.  Not certain.  Thanks for allowing me to try them!
