I definitely don't hate them.  They were sweet but perhaps a little dried.  My wife is a big fan!  Very hard to save seeds from :)  I didn't bother trying because I hadn't tasted them yet.  I've had bad luck with this species so far.  I had some seeds two years ago from trade winds but they didn't germinate (like most stuff from them it seems).  I've had two plants from Logee's and managed to kill both of them.  I suspect they may be very sensitive to overwatering (at least when they're young).  Or maybe they just didn't like being shipped.  Not certain.  Thanks for allowing me to try them!

ok great, as long as they weren't fermented I'm happy.

that is a hard fruit to ship!

glad you got to taste one..that is the first time I've shipped a Muntingia calabura fruit!

Would it be possible to ship the red Jaboticaba with some seeds?  I'm wanting Seeds and wouldn't mind trying Jabo for the first time ever.  I assume the red Jabo taste amazing enough to hook me for life :).  Heard good things about Grimal also but I'll take anything I can get since I've never had any lol.

Hobo,

if you are getting fruits, you automatically get seeds! about 30-50 seeds within the fruits!  if this isn't enough seeds, let me know, i can surely include some seeds in the package, but I have to sell them to you at the regular rate.

received a nice box of red jabos yesterday.  These were even better than the last batch--out of approx 60 jabos, only 2 were squished and both were still quite delicious.  The flavor is excellent (especially when I don't eat lots of skins with it)...sweet a little tangy/acidity and very juicy.  Some of the pulp clings to the seed, but I just put them in my pocket per Adam's advice.

A box of fruit with upwards of 50 seeds for around $25 is a great deal!

Thanks Adam.  PS:  Do you want me to save the corks and send them back at some point?

thanks for sharing your experience!

and of course thanks for your purchase!

hahaha I need to start collecting wine corks...i'm running out, and they work great.

it would be nice to eventually get those back, but it's ok if you throw them away.

you might end up hanging on to them for another year before I get them.

Once I started eating them I couldn't stop. They only lasted a day. Everyone within zone should have at least one of these bad boys pumping out fruit a few times a year. I'm going to go step up my tree I bought from you 6 months ago and stick it in a a little saucer of water after I write this. Maybe even talk to it a little bit. :) Thanks Adam! A+

@cmichael258, You have to peel off the clear skin on the cork shaped ones first. It is very tannic. I like mine chilled in the fridge. ;)

hahaha!

thanks Josh!

did u notice one of the fruits I sent was actually different?

you got lucky with a rogue Grimal...(one or two?)

it would have had a thicker skin than all the rest, and it would have been firmer than the rest...the pulp maybe a bit thicker as well.

I had to pick it a bit early, but it still should have tasted very nice.

Adam, I did separate that one. I was also excellent. I'm going to try planting some seeds, including the Grimal, which had 4 in it. I'll be eating more of those in no time (7 years). hahahaha Seriously though, I need to swing by your place again at some point to grab some more assorted jabos. I have this wet area of my yard I am redoing that I would like to get a few different Jabo flavors in. Thanks again! I'll PM you in the not too distant future.

Hey Adam, thought I'd check up on the Jabo's.  Sorry my impatience is getting the better of me.  Never had a Jabo so its difficult.  Hoping they Fruit enough to make it to me before winter arrives.

another decent crop is coming soon, maybe 30-40 days...I will update here when I can ship again.

If someone on the list is feeling like spending some serious cash on some rare fruits, I could ship about 4 Grimal fruits for $21 total.

you end up paying $16 for the fruits, and $5 for priority shipping...

I only have enough fruit to send out about 2 boxes

I'm guessing you'd recover about 1-3 seeds per fruit, which sell for $3 ea...so you wouldn't really lose money on the deal.

Thanks again for making these available Adam. I got easily 90 seedlings out of the fruit, so absolutely worth the money in seeds alone. Plus, delicious fruit!
