Hey Berns!
What cultivars of mango have you seen in the Philippines? You mention Edward. Any other of the florida varieties? How do they produce in PH? Do they use Potassium Nitrate to induce bloom? Thanks for your knowledge
E.
Hi,
Many florida mango varieties have been introduced in the Philippines. Have friends in the rare fruit society of the philippines have grown florida mangoes. Irwin, tommy atkins, keitt, kent, baileys marvel, tyler premier, cushman, valencia pride, amrapali, glenn, rapoza, gouveia, r2e2, kensington pride, tom py kan, namfokmai, chokanan and many more.
Most florida mangoes fruit voluntarily here in the Philippines. Long sun exposure helps in making the mangoes sweeter. No need to flower induce with potasiumnitrate.
We only use potasium nitrate for carabao mango trees.
Regards,
Berns
