It looks like one of the branches on my Cara Cara orange has become variegated in this new flush.

Nice, let that branch grow out & harden off & then graft it to trifoliata. Here's a shot of mine in full bloom.

It is not common for a green leafed citrus tree to mutate and start producing variegated foliage.   Cara Cara seems to produce variegation more frequently them most citrus cultivars. Sonny yours is not the first Cara Cara that I've known that has done so.

Laaz - I picked up a few extra trees from Lowes when they went on clearance at the end of the season so I could practice grafting with them.  Do you think they would work?  I didn't have much luck earlier in the year when I tried some practice grafts. I dont really have any experience.  I just watched a couple YouTube videos and tried it.  What type of graft do you suggest?

Millet - I was just excited to see something different.  When I first saw the group of cupped leaves with cream-colored margins, I thought "Uh-oh.  What did I do?"  I was worried I had over-fertilized or something and had harmed my tree.  It's just neat to see a real-life example of bud sport mutation like I have read about.

Mostly inverted T-bud, but also cleft graft of the bark isn't slipping.

That's so cool, Sonny! I wish my Cara Cara did the same.  :)
