Man Patrick
i would love to see photos too.
i now have 2 Sherwoods (from you)
1 un-named
1 Li
and 1 Coco
the largest is about 8 or 9ft tall, but still very young (2 yrs)
i cant imagine these things 30ft tall and loaded with fruit.
some of them are 4 to 5 ft away from each other.
i will have to keep the ones in front (Southern) shorter
so the ones in back can get more light. when they get larger i guess.
this is the top of my Coco
it grew the fastest and produced the most.
(this year anyway)
Does anyone know what kind of morus nigra variety does dave wilson nursery has?
I didnt like the taste no sweetnes detected but sour... its been in the ground for almost a year --this tree grows pretty quick....
was wondering if it has something to do with the maturity?
im looking to pug it & graft it to a better variety....
is it possible say for instance graft a persian to a morus nigra(dwarf)?
It's hard to say. The typically grafting season is around June for us in CA. If the graft failed it should turn black/brown...
Wow with all the CRFG scion exchanges in Jan/Feb, I thought early spring is the prime grafting season with a few exceptions (say citrus). What do you typically graft in June?
This week mine started shooting out blossom shoots. It's happening!
Gary is also just a nice guy. Knows his stuff, especially when it comes to soil. I buy odds and ends from him though his selection is not necessarily for crazy zone pushers. He stocks mostly plants he knows will thrive in the orange county area. Good selection of those. Nice source of figs too.
Few days ago Donald Trump tweeted out that Orange Essence is his new favorite mango. That he almost felt it was named after him/ He had his groundsman plant three OE trees at his Mar Al Lago estate in Palm Beach.
