Best performing

It may not necessarily have failed but it never took off and is now sick.  I have seen grafted trees sprout suckers from the ground, it's not that uncommon.  Especially when the grafted part is stunted from the nursery pot or whatever it was that made it never really take off.  Since it's a sick branch and you don't know what it is, you should go ahead and graft with whatever it is that you want to be growing.

Nice harvest.  Looks like dr white for sure.  I think thats the performing cherimoya.

Now is a good time to chop it off and graft it.  Cut everything off at around 8 inches tall and graft onto the 2 new shoots.  The original branch is junk.  Use the new healthy green shoots.

Thanks for the compliment.  Thanks for all the orders everyone.

 Sale is over.

Lots of people ordered and I am done cutting up my trees for the year.  Will ship all the remaining orders after new years.

I have a squirrelenator trap that works ok.  Probably works better in a small yard.  Just put bird seed in it and they go in it and get stuck.  Then shoot them in the trap.

Have an unknown variety from friend's place. Thin skin, creamy,  slightly bitter aftertaste.

Also bacon...

If they are getting on the tree from the trunk you can wrap the trunk with metal sheeting material like duct work type metal.  They cant crawl up it.

It does have a faint scent.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, its a duck.

Thats a bacon tree.

That mex grande gets really big.  Its definitely ok to cut it way back.  Just try not to leave a lot of exposed bark.

Yes the Nancy one looks like bacon.  Bacons turn dark on bottom and crack when they hang long on the tree.

They look like bacons.  The dark bottom and crack on bottom is unmistakably bacon.

Just shooting from the hip here but it looks too wet.

Is that mint next to it?  If it is that probably also not helping, that stuff is super invasive.

We have had several fruits off a seedling tree.  I think it was a CAC seedling.  The fruit have citrus orange or lemon flavor and good sweetness and a bit of acid.  I thought they were pretty good.  I've got one rootstock thats a manilla type seedling that made a ton of little junk fruit but my daughter thinks they are good.

I'm guilty of losing the tags on most of the trees so I dont know what many of them are.  Theres several seedling trees that made fruit but I don't know what they are.  But all of them have been pretty good except the manillas.  Sweet tart still seems like the best but the CAC and a few others are not far off.

Nice harvest Brad.   I picked a couple  Cherimoyas last week and they were outstanding. Tis the season.

I thought the cherimoyas were really good so far this year also.  My wife was eating one the other day and said wow this is really sweet.  So I did a brix reading and it was 30.

174
I have some of those if you want send me a message.  The AX was not a good one and I got rid of it.

I got a few mangos the other days and cherimoyas.  The mangos are still a bit green but they won't get much more heat so may as well start taking them.
