Thanks Zands! I hope everyone who graft and got buddy tape really liked it. you have not grafted and I can tell you that if timing is right, your success in grafts will be higher than normal newbies as you got the bentley of grafting tape.

I tried this tape from a friend on tiny 1mm-wide fingerlime buds from UCR and they all took.

But I read the first order thread and wonder if you're not using parafilm correctly. It's not for joining graft unions. Think of it as the replacement for the old sealing wax in a pot and brush. I stretch it out to wrap the length of the scion before grafting and use hand heat to melt it onto the scion. Unstretched and unmelted parafilm is brittle.

Anyone still using parafilm should store it in a plastic sandwich bag between uses to keep it fresh.

After checking, one bud did fail with the buddy tape. Now I need to grow out the 3 buds I thought were fingerlimes and see which one's different. I'm pretty sure I budded 3 fingerlimes with the tape. and others with parafilm and clear grafting tape.

Bud failure happened to few of my grafts as well, the difference is Buddy tape does not lose its properties like Parafilm does over time. When I tried to unwrap parafilm from failed scion, I find it more plastic, vs buddy tape that was still elastic. With temp. variations to extreme from day to night in So cal where we go from mid 50's at lows to high 80's at night, parafilm will deteoriate much faster.

Non-Perforated is available. I am being told that for field grafting pros like perforated, for bench grafting they prefer non-perforated. prices are the same.
