Yeah I am growing it. Pretty plant, moderately fast growing. Supposedly fruits a couple years from seed.

Yeah its easy to grow from seed. Here is a picture of about a 8 month old seedling at the time.

This plant grows near where I live maybe 20kms away. Strangely it seems to thrive in the most harsh areas little crags and inbetween rocks in mountainous areas. Beautiful copper underside of the leaves. Should do well in a pot I would think.

Apparently can get much larger in protected areas but the natural bonsai it makes are very pretty :)
Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.

i was just reading about this...

how is the taste / texture ?
anyone have extra seed, or know where to get them ?

Sapotaceae

The fruit are tasty and sweet with very little pink flesh - they are rich in latex and are leathery-skinned. The seed is large, smooth and hard, and is covered with a soft membrane. Their bisexual flowers are similarly crowded on the trunk and branches, and smell strongly of fermenting honey.

Common names: Transvaal milkplum
This attractive tree is a hardy, frost and drought resistant plant although rarely cultivated in the trade. It does very well on quartzite outcrops and in rocky areas. It can be propagated from fresh seed or cuttings.
