Spaugh... No not yet.... Government has over 300 different varieties & I know of two other parties which would have more varieties but many are their own cross pollination creations....... Mike

Thanks...Frank & Future.... It is nearly 50/50 between grafted trees & selected seedlings...... Haven't let hardly any trees hold fruit yet due to size etc..... But last season only had appox. 20 varieties which were all seedlings that never flowered....... Mike

That's quite a feat!

Do you plan on continuing to plant all the varieties you can? Or was 100 the goal?

Those are some nice seedlings. Many are poly. Did you let them all grow or attempt to select for the clone? Great project!

The correct spelling Mahachanok or Maha Chanok.

Well it's actually:  มหากะโหลกศีรษะ
Anything in English is just a phonetic translation. ;)

While that may be true for some languages, that's not necessarily the case with Thai, since Thailand has The Royal Thai General System of Transcription which is the official system for transliterating Thai to the Latin script (which English uses). The other reason you're wrong is that all the original scientific articles in Thailand that referenced the Mahachanok used either one of the two spellings I mentioned previously.

Lol. I actually set an auto correct on the forum for Mahachanok a few years ago so i'm always surprised when someone manages to come up with a new spelling for it.

Murahilin... Thanks for the correct spelling of Ma Ha Chanok... I will correct my ledger... Frank..... Half way through I have the seedlings.......Vernmented... In OZ we can't get scions into the country without losing a leg etc. but we can get in seeds without to much drama.... Would like to think that I got the clone on the poly varieties & with the mono varieties if we don't like what they produce down the track we will just top work the tree......A project which will take some years to finish..... Who knows one of the Mono seedlings may turn out better than the parent & we will have to name it like say ' USA beauty '........ Mike

Its not "Ma Ha" but either Maha Chanok or Mahachanok. Its not Sea Crest but Seacrest.
