One nursery plants a huge amount of mango seeds on a 3'x8' tray with loose soil.  They pull the ones that sprout.  Some seeds can provide multiple seedlings to graft onto.

On the edge with the hump facing up but I've also grown many laying it flat.

Not many replied so I'm asking again. The reason I asked is that an older man from Cuba has recently told me that fruit seeds should always be planted in the orientation it would most likely end up if the fruit fell in nature.  It sort of made sense. In other words a mango seed should be planted flat.
