Do you have any canistel, P. campechiana?  That should work.

Hi Berns (or anyone else),

I’m wondering how you got on with grafting your Ross Sapote? I have a Canistel in the ground and am hoping the Ross will graft onto it ok. I’m planning an approach graft

there's someone on FB, in some of the groups like Tx rare fruit growers, and she doesn't use the forum, but she's doing some experiments with ross grafting, and other pouterias, so far looking good for a few species i thought didn't have a chance...like abiu on cansitel?  and a few others i forget...

i think Felipe showed me pics of mamey grafted on canistel growing very well, i always thought that combination was a dead end....

I have a large ross sapote tree that makes a lot of fruit so sometimes they fall bust open get full of bugs so I pitch them across the row, anyway their is seedlings growing their so I used one to graft a fairchild#2 canistel on to this late spring and it seems happy

Ross grafts good on canistel . October is a good time to graft them. I use cleft graft and then bag them.
