Just because I was in the path of totality...
« on: August 21, 2017, 09:25:22 PM »
Ok folks, sorry this is not fruit-related, but here is a pic of the total solar eclipse! I did eat a home-grown banana while waiting, if that counts...

Nobody knows for sure where he went for the eclipse, but Neil Degrasse Tyson had ice cream at a place two blocks from our house.  Only famous person ever to eat at Delsa's.

I'm not sure what to be more thrilled about.. Idaho home grown bananas, your gorgeous shot of the solar eclipse, or the fact that Neil Degrasse Tyson was within two blocks of your house. :o Either way, both all three occurrences are awesome! :D I'd be stoked to see Neil Degrasse Tyson over all the celebrities that are involved in recent films shot in Cincinnati. Both John Travolta and Nick Jonas have been in films in houses less than a mile from mine. :o Something about the Cincy suburbs grabs the hearts of filmmakers I guess?XD

Fry 'em up!  (The taters, not your eyes.)  Nice!!!!

We're (hill country) next in line for a direct hit, so, am already planning what do with our acreage.    St. Nick's Farm Totality Fees - Primitive Camping - $500/nt., local craft tap beer - $10.00, cup of Jo - $3.00,  clean up deposit -$50.   Port-A-Potties, 203 allergens, head pats and play ball with our Heeler  - free

Thanks!
Yep, took the shot(s) myself. And yes, I was probably eating the only Idaho-grown banana on that day (or any day).
We are still so excited about Tyson. Have not heard yet where he viewed the eclipse, but it wasn't in the little park we were in.

Incredible shot.  Put this to rest, will ya?  Is there any potential for camera damage?  I assume there isn't or you wouldn't have gotten the shot, but you know how it is when "they say....."

There is no danger to eyes or cameras as long as the eclipse is in totality.  I had just over a minute to get the pics.
But anything OTHER than totality can cause eye damage after only a few seconds, with no pain.  And nope, that is NOT fake news...
