Ideas for questions to pose to Harry Lorenzi
« on: October 24, 2017, 09:28:29 PM »
I am hoping to interview Harry Lorenzi at his botanical garden Instituto Plantarum in Campinas, Brazil. If you have any good questions for me to ask him i could include them in the interview. I hope to post it on return to youtube.

Is there any work being done on seedless Jaboticabas?
(Please excuse me if this question may be un-informed)

Has there been any recent discoveries of fruits that are particularly promising for commercialization?

Maybe this is too simple of a question for him, but I'm curious what Cerrado fruits are, in his opinion, best tasting and most adaptable to a non-Cerrado environment.

What fruits he feels are most at risk of extinction and what growers around the world can do to help maintain the species outside of Brazil ?

What species might he see as being best for commercial markets?

What is the most interesting/exciting fruit he has found?

Where is the most densely biodiverse region of the cerrado?

wondering if there is a rare species, or cultivar he's been chasing for many years, and has not been able to find?  Like legendary fruits, that have only been heard of, but never seen....

or maybe he has a story about a rare variety, or species that was lost?  One that was recorded, or documented near him, or even in his possession at one point, but since has languished in obscurity?

Who should I contact at Vendas Plantarum to get some books that I ordered and paid for last year and never received?  After three months, I wrote Vinícius Bernardes at Vendas Plantarum and he told me he would look into it, but I still didn't receive them.  I wrote him a second time, he said he would look into it, but still didn't receive the books or a refund.  (My order #164033).  Should we not order directly from Instituto Plantarum?

I believe Vendas Plantarum is just the sales department of Instituto Plantarum. You can email Sheila and she will help you with your problem: sheila@plantarum.com.br
