They are great in milkshakes, the fruit from my tree is seedy, compared to some regular soursops, but we sell every fruit the tree produces and I have the same people come back for more every year when we have fruit,
So as far as taste I personally am not a fan, but my customers like them. Hope that helps. Mike

You might want to try the fruit before you take the plunge.  I hear there are better ones, but in general, this is not one of the stars of the annona world. The ones that I have had have not been very good.

I've had a couple and thought they were decent. I've never tried sincuya / soncoya, but I vaguely remember my wife saying they were similar flavored. Mountain soursop seems to be pretty darn tough. It seems like the evil spiraling whitefly is taking a liking to one of my potted mountain soursop trees though :-(.

The one in the BG here is beginning to set fruits now. Its prolific and super tough. The fruits are larger than the average soursop and the fragrance is outstanding. The flavour is a bit wine like, but okay - hints of apricot, overripe mango, white wine and cardboard. I can image there would be folk who would enjoy them, and if you are among their number then the tree is a gold mine. I generally eat a quater of one fruit per season and think 'its alright, but not for me'...

The mountain soursops i've tried have a soapy taste, similar to pond apple. I've heard there are decent tasting mountain soursops and decent tasting pond apples, but i've never found either, as yet. For the most part, these fruits seem best as hardy rootstocks for better species of annonas.
