Title: How much water for Grumichama during flowering?
Post by: FV Fruit Freak on July 29, 2019, 12:04:43 AM
My grumi is flowering very well right now but keeps dropping flowers, ughh...Do they need the same amount of water during flowering, extra water, or less water? I can’t figure it out. About half the flowers in this picture have dropped. Thank you.

If the tree needs more water then the leaves get droopy
It doesn't seem like you can water grumichama too much

I have several black and yellow. I have one black tree that flowers
every year in the Spring and has never set a fruit. This is going on
4 years now. I am giving the tree one more Spring?  Hopefully your
tree has fruited before? I also had another tree that set fruit all over the
place and each fruit had 5-7 seeds per fruit and it tasted terrible. That one
is gone. There seems to be allot of variation in seedlings?

Thanks so much for your reply. The tree has flowered before but nothing this year. Sorry to hear about your seedy fruit, that party suuuuuuucks. I only have this one tree that is fruiting age, so I’m not sure on the wide variation from seedlings, but Ive never read or seen anything about them having so
many seeds :(  I hope your other trees start making up for it!! Best of luck.

I watered just before flowers until picking and had a pretty good crop

So you stopped watering once the flowers were on the tree?
