Of the common varieties getting around Bengal has one of the strongest 'rose' scents and flavors.Unforunately Bengals have very large seeds.This could be a giant leap forward for lovers of lychees and they seem to be in the size range of good quality types.

Wow Brad, thanks for the information! It's really exciting with all the new varieties of Lychees being developed! I wonder how long it will take for this variety to reach the states? I wish there was a large enough cohort of fruit fanatics that were enthusiastic and motivated enough to properly bring these new varieties into the states. I'm sure that diehard Lychee collectors would pay a premium to get their hands on these new varieties.

I emailed Pine Island Nursery about Jason Nursery and the seedless lychees.  Apparently they are not interested, as I never heard back from them.
