Tropical Fruit Discussion / Mango ID
« on: August 10, 2015, 08:30:31 PM »
Hi Everyone,
I got some mangoes from some friends in my neighborhood. Out of curiosity, I would like to know what varieties they are. Can anyone help me ID these following mangoes please? Thanks

Here's one:
CIMSie--using Coconut's Italian Meatball Sh**t Technique to germinate a rather stubborn fruit seed.
Example: "I couldn't get my wolf apple seeds to germinate until I did a CIMSie with the lot". ;D

I have the green jello vine, but not the black jello plant. Perhaps Tingkun or any other member from Taiwan might be able to help you. Good luck.

Greetings everyone!
I am selling cempedak seedlings and pineapple plants from my home garden. The cempedak seedlings were grown from a sweet variety found in Java. The pineapple plants are the variety with striped leaves, and reddish-pink pineapples. Any questions (or advice), please PM me or leave a post.
The cempedak seedlings will be shipped in their pots. The pineapple plant will be put in a ziplock bag with soil, and may be trimmed for easier shipping. Sorry, grow bag is NOT included.

Notice: I cannot ship the variegated pineapple to CA, LA, TX or AZ, only the cempedak.

Cempedak: $16.00 each
Pineapple: $10.00 each

Payment preference: Paypal, check, or credit card (if doing local pickup). If doing local pickup, please contact me so we can meet at a designated public area (gas station, mall, parking lot) at our convenience. Thank you for your interest!

All of the pictures taken are my own except the cempedak fruit. Credit goes to Maryoto for the cempedak fruit image.

Fancy Fruits and Produce Supermarket (off of Goldenrod Road) now has lychees in season. You can get there via the East-West Expressway.

Congratulations, Adam! I'm long overdue to stop by at your nursery. Even the USDA guys I talked you this week mentioned your prowess with tropical plants :)
Hurrah for the Prince of Plinia!

The Artocarpus tamaran (sorry about my misspelling it on my earlier post) is in a portable greenhouse (conservatory) outside in my backyard. It is shaded by two grapefruit trees 8)
Could you please tell me the following about this Artocarpus: what does it look like? What is the flavor? What is the local name, and does it have any medicinal uses? Terimah kasih!
Best wishes

Hi Adhyt,
Again, thank you for providing us with good quality seeds. Here is a happy seedling of your Artocarpus tamarack  which has survived our crazy Central Florida weather:

Hi Maryoto,
The luwi seeds you sent have sprouted, and are a testimony to how well you package your seeds:

I received my package today, delivered straight to my door buy the postman. When I opened it, a slight smell of fruity durian caressed my nostrils. Inside were my six durian monthong seeds, etc. packaged neatly in a cute box.
Thank you again, Beni!

« on: April 22, 2015, 01:07:26 PM »
Greetings, everyone!
Has anyone purchased seeds from the website www.okapigarden.com? They are based in the African country of Togo, and have a lot of rare seeds, such as parkia biglobosa. The site does not accept Paypal. Anybody had a good or bad experience with them? Thanks.
