Hi friend. What the salak that I found is red flesh Boni? The flesh is cruchy and sweeter than salak gula pasir. The first bite is crunchy and crisp, second bite  will come out fresh liquids such as sugar and does not make nauseated. It is very delicious. It salak most delicious I've ever been eaten.

It sure looks like the red fleshed Bali salak we grow.  Boni
Most of the flesh that covers seed is looking like your picture..sort of striped zebra style...and the smaller garlic looking pieces that don't have seed are usually all red.
And yes it is delicious!  I'm glad to hear you think so too Fajar! I was wondering how it compared to the other types you have had for sale.

Hifarm posted a study of Bali salak varieties in the information and publications section and at least 13 varieties are reviewed. It is very good.
From what I remember nana is a smaller type as the name suggests and might not be as suitable for the palate of many people. Gula pasir, boni and the thai (S.wallichiana ) sala sumalee are the big guns of the salak world. The challenge is to get genuine seeds rather than imposter as there are so many varieties.

Therefore I ask and the discussion in advance, so that I not wrong determine varieties. I just feel the 3 types of salak from Bali, salak bali, Gula Pasir and boni. I am still looking for salak nangka (salak has a taste like jackfruit), salak nana (nanas) (taste like pineapple), salak cengkeh (taste like cloves), salak putih (white flash), salak beringin, salak cemara, salak sepet, salak embadan, salak injin (fleshy color blackish)

Bali salak is the general  name for all bali types and each of the 13 main ones have their own name.Boni, gula pasiir and nanas are examples of bali salak (S.zalacca group amboina) which are all bisex. As I said look at that Master Thesis on varieties of Bali salak and all will be revealed.Hifarm/John posted it a couple of years ago in the library section of this forum.

Indonesia is a paradise of durian. There are 71 varieties in 19 provinces in Indonesia. Of the 21 species found in Indonesia, 14 species only grow in Borneo. Where durian is grown, where we can get it, the time of harvest, taste, characteristic, and etc, we can knew all from this book.

after you know durian you want, you can order seeds to me, I will try durian seeds that you want
