I have many pitangatuba seedlings that are well established. Let me know.thanks. Will keep in mind.
I have plants of both I can send if you're interested in buying.I may do that if seeds aren’t available. Are your plants little/mailable?
Chempejak is an English name for crosses of jackfruit and chempedak. There are multiple varieties. Here in Hawaii we have Cheena (or CHNA, NA for Nangka = jackfruit), Nangkadak (introduced by Frankie Sekiya), and Sri Gading (introduced I think by Richard Campbell). I have these three growing and have tried and love the fruit of each of them. I rate Sri Gading as the best. I like them more than jackfruit but I think their fruit is more akin to chempedak and not so comparable to jackfruit. Seedlings of chempejak are highly variable but sometimes quite good.I bought some Sri gading seeds just a couple days ago. Are your trees seedling or grafted? I hope they will survive in Florida 10a
Aloha, Steph
I had a batch of these from seed but only kept one. I found mixed reports, some people say it is better than jackfruit but others say good jackfruit varieties are better, and that champejack is better. I haven't tried the fruit yet.I did not know Cheena and chempejack were different. Not different names for the same thing?
Hi all! I have a small 2’ bush that is blooming well but does not set any fruit. Does it set better with another plant to cross pollinate? Plenty of bees flying around and taking care of other plants nearby. Maybe more or less water? Plant is potted, full sun, watered 2x per week. Thanks!I have the same situation/problem. I’m thinking it needs another plant. Who’s got a seed?
My Wurtz tree in Deefield Beach ripened fruit from mid-November through December. No one mentioned Lula. Pretty decent flavor, a little sweet. (Who's the Aussie?)
How old is your Day tree, fruitloopy? How is the shape? I've read the description "slender." Is that accurate? Is it growing tall?
Can toss Sapote be grafted onto canistel rootstock???absolutely!
You would think that dipping fresh picked fruit into some type of fungicide solution would destroy the fungus spores on the fruit. I have been meaning to try dipping a few mangoes in chlorinated pool water as an experiment.
