Increasing the root vigour in Garcinia

Hi Guys, just wondering if someone can share any pro tip on how to improve the rootstock vigour of garcinia species to encourage more surface roots? Does anyone know any intermediate species garcinia is compatible with, outside of it's own genus? Thanks
