I have Stenocereus queretaroensis seedlings for sale. They are 6 months old and 1 inch tall in height. These fruiting cacti are also called Pitaya De Jalisco. These guys grow pretty fast and are some of the most beautiful cacti seedlings I've ever had! Mine have beautiful red new spines:) think I got seeds from you a year or two ago
Any idea how big these would need to be to flower?
I'm impatient so maybe I need to try graft onto something ha ha.

I have a Stenocereus stellatus large rooted cutting that flowered at about 4ft in height and 4 inch diameter. I would assume that this would be similar. However may need to trigger a stress response / hormone release to spur earlier flowering from seedlings.
I hear grafting to different cacti can spur flowering with the various hormones flowing. I would think a mature dragon fruit that is flowering would be good to graft to.

I have up to 8 available over a year old now, bigger and healthier from the previous picture. Going for $13.50 per seedling sorted by color or $11 per seedling unknown color. Shipping $9 for 4 shipped. Or $14 for 5 to 8 shipped. Inventory of colors left varies.

Here are some pictures of the Stenocereus queretaroensis 'Pitaya de Zacatecas' seeds I have collected. Plants were collected from the largest and sweetest fruits. The cacti are grown in southern Zacatecas near the northern inland limits of its range in Mexico (This area ranges from zone 10A to 9B). I would describe the taste of like Raspberry jam, very sweet with some tangy berry like flavors (much sweeter then dragon fruit) and has a syrupy dragon fruit flesh. Think jam or perfectly ripe fig texture meets dragon fruit. Size from superior selections ranges from racket ball to tennis ball in comparison.
The Pitaya de Jalisco slightly different strain with collections more southern. It seems there are some distinctive strains in growing areas separated by distance and land barriers, since the cacti thrive in a wild and semi wild environment.

Man these grow slow! So thankfull for your collection efforts and to be growing these cactus.
By the way I adopted a beautiful P. Phitrantha that originally came from you some years ago and it’s doing great with beautiful form:)

Outdoors in SoCal, these Stenocereus queretaroensis are slow the first few years I noticed. Once they get some mass they start to hit a stride and grow much quicker. Indoors with 18 hours of artificial light and temps always above 70F I can speed up growth much faster then outdoors in SoCal.
Once they achieve mass about the size of a standard salt shaker they start to speed up. They love the heat and seem to like humidity if its warm. When they actively growing in the summer they are receptive to moderate amounts of organic fertilizers. I would not recommend bothering fertilizing it between November and March unless you in an area of year round tropical or warm temps.

I do not have any seedling left to sell. There should be some sources on ebay and online for seeds.

Seeds are available at https://www.rarepalmseeds.com/ (https://www.rarepalmseeds.com/) and you can have great success if you have patience and skill (i rarely have any success from seeds, so every time i see "seedlings" or "live plants" i m so interested).

i have already planted the seeds i had, in cups with ancient turf from Estonia, outdoors, hot under sunshine, but nights are still cold (hopefully not under +14 Celsius). Of course the cups are cut around the bottom for drainage.

And nothing sprouted from the seeds i mentioned, so, nullzero, when you have a few seedlings of Stenocereus queretaroensis and if you can send to Greece without too much delay (due to virus etc), please let me know. By the way, is Stenocereus queretaroensis self fertile, so one plant alone will fruit? And, are the fruit without prickles?

Yes they do surprising well in Florida. Resist fungal pressures and love the humid heat.Give an update when it does flower.

That is true. I have two In S Florida that you gave me happily growing 1 and a half feet tall
