Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Plinia sp. "Anomaly" new Jabuticaba variety
« on: December 09, 2016, 01:36:40 AM »
thanks everyone for requesting seed, and for commenting...

check out this last pair of photos...

I noticed something interesting about the fruits that I hadn't seen before...

they have a strange shape at the bottom of the fruit where it attaches to the tree...it's like an extended stem, with a bulbous shape...I never noticed this before with the Red jaboticaba (precoce).

it's hard to tell, because the fruits are so tightly packed, which hides the strange shaped stems...

see what I mean?

Adam,
Please put me in the seed list.
Thank you.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Eugenia neonitida
« on: July 20, 2015, 01:30:57 AM »
I've sample fruits the fruits of about 30-40 trees , and I noticed one that makes very sour fruits.

also have a few that make sweeter fruits.

some have more fiber...

some have less pronounced ribs (better for shipping  ;) )

some even have lower latex content (if you eat the fruit too early , it can stick to your teeth somewhat)

but all of them are delicious when properly cultivated and harvested!
Friend,
 Thank you for answer.
 How much it ripened?
It fell from the trees themselves.
 Day was ripened.
 But sour.
 .

Gue Soo Lee,
Anôn há seo.... Te hamin...go!
I spent 17 days in beautiful South Corea in 2002, during the World Cup.
Eugenia neonitida now is called Eugenia selloi
Pitangatuba, the common name, is very fragrant and taste sour.  This is  a fruit to process into juices, ice creams, jellies, drinks mixed with sugar or honey . If you want to eat it out of hand, I recommend you eat a miracle fruit before.
Thank you, friend answered.
Thank you, good memories of Korea.
 Thank you and good information.
