I have more tall pots, 5x9, 6x12, 8x15

Have stacks, done with them, pots are used in great condition.  1$, 1.5$, 2$ depending on size.

Also have 1, 1.7 and 2.2 gal standard squat pots for 50 cents.

I top worked this mango tree and only used flagging tape on the unions.  Works fine, comes off easier, costs less, and pulls tighter than grafting tapes.  For the scion part it gets 1 layer of buddy tape.

Theres a product called "extinguish plus" if you want to use poison.   You sprinkle it near the entrance to their nest and they take it in and die.

The Ross I tried taste just like canistel too.  Could barely tell any difference.

This plant I have been giving a lot of sun the last week or so and it started growing pretty quickly.  I wanted to show this plant because you can see once the leaves harden off they turn a darker green.  The new flush is lime green and looks chlorotic but it clears up once they have a month or so to harden off.

Here's the An Hai that made a miracle comeback out of nowhere

I have them out in the sun right now its 90F and 20%RH already at 10AM.

1509
Use T posts and a 100ft roll of welded wire.

I left mine out under a 70% shade all day today it was over 90F and around 30%RH and windy.  Seems fine.  I may go ahead and plant it a d put a shade over it.  It will either take off or die.

Citrus General Discussion / Re: Need a fast rootstock
« on: July 08, 2021, 11:22:04 PM »
I need some rootstock for a ccpp order and bought a cheap orange tree from lowes to graft onto.  It worked out well and I have a nice 2 variety tree in 5gal pot ready to plant a couple months later.

1512
I have been giving them some morning sun lately.  The problem is it's gotten too hot and dry and windy now to give them mid day sun.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Pineapple thread
« on: July 07, 2021, 05:39:51 PM »
Flavor was really good.  This pineapple is a winner.  Theres nothing bad about it, smooth leaves that don't sunburn, strong plant, big fruit, excellent flavor.

I'm removing a few types from my collection and keeping this one and the white jades.  Those are my current top 2 varieties and I've been propagating those mostly.

I have an An Hai that just started to grow leaves in the last week.

It doesn't look like a lychee.  Atemoya maybe?  Try shooting the bugs off with the hose everyday.

Call me old fashioned but I don't have any use for GMO food.  Or viruses.
Better hope there is no ww3 because there will   be a lot of GMO viruses and bacteria that really love to feed on Homo Sapiens.

Its probably already started...

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: WTB Pink Ilama seeds
« on: July 05, 2021, 11:34:22 AM »
No idea but when I first got them shipped in from Mexico none of them sprouted.  Then after sitting in my garage for a few years I tried again and all of them sprouted.

1521
Dang Simon, you will have fruit off that in no time!

1522
I didn't take pictures a used all the limes but next time I will take pics.  It seems impossible to me but I went and rechecked and the limes definitely came off the grafted branches.

Citrus General Discussion / Limes turned pink grafted on pink lemon.
« on: July 04, 2021, 03:54:57 PM »
My Persian lime grafts on variegated pink lemon produce normal looking fully green limes with pink on the inside.  Is that possible?  I thought I was hallucinating then I cut more of them and they were all this way!  Then I went back to check that they were in fact off the grafted branches and they were!

I left some llama seeds dry in a drawer for a year or 2 then they sprouted in just a few weeks.  Seems like they just need to dry out and age a while.

4$ per seed on a fruit that has 30+ seeds in it?

Way too expensive!
