Pineapple 'bonsai' ))
« on: February 25, 2018, 01:33:29 PM »
This poor thing was damaged, broke off while moving to the garage for the cold snap we had coming. The plant or I should say the trunk of the mother plant was 5 or 6 years old. It was producing fruit and suckers every year. It was hanging over the planter so I had to put a support under it. I was planning to try to root it later but it kind of happend by itself. When it broke off I didn't want to throw it away and did't have much time to 'play' with it, so I just found a container with the dead plant and just stuck it in and forgot about it. Moved it in the greenhouse first. It didn't look great, yellow/brown leaves. I pruned those leaves and brought it to the garage because of the freeze warnings and the center of the pineapple was still green-ish. I thought.... hm, maybe... and forgot about it until found it flowering the other day. What a surprise!!  ;D
