I dragged mine out yesterday, and now my "tropical elbow" is flaring up.
The doctor laughed at me the first time it happened years ago. He said I had "tennis elbow" AND "golfers elbow" even though I play neither. I told him what precipitated it, and he named it "tropical elbow" ! At least he didn't call it "stupid lady trying to move pots that are too heavy for her elbow"...

Cheers,
Carolyn

Frost here this morning, might be the last time until October. Light frosts aren't too big a deal. 25 degrees F. on April 17 was more serious. Unfortunately, our forecasts tend to reflect more suburban areas and can't be relied on in the rural areas. Windy conditions tend to equalize readings, calm conditions show greater variation.

I am going to have to prune a few of these in-ground trees

If you prune, don't prune 100 percent of a trees branches if you want the tree to produce fruit.  Blooms/fruit develop only on the new wood.  Pruning removes new growth.

Yes I am thinking I will prune only one major limb at a time each year, and hope that keeps it in check.

It is 32'x18' with 15' peak in the center.  There's another thread on here documenting all the construction, it was a ton of work to build!

I am lucky enough to have piped natural gas which is extremely inexpensive, so I am using a gas air heater.

brian when you wrote that you intend to prune only one major branch per year, is this  concerning the in ground trees?

Yes, only the in-ground trees need pruning row/soon.  The container trees growth is already controlled somewhat by the restriction of being in a container.

Soon you will need a new greenhouse.
The collection will be too big.

I've learned long ago, no matter what size greenhouse one builds, it is not big enough,

Yup, there is a freeze warning tonight.  I pulled all the plants back in the greenhouse today.  Takes me about an hour to move them.

This is normal for me, though, I usually have to do it a few times every year.  The important thing for me was getting them out for long enough to clean up the greenhouse, check for bugs, test all the irrigation drippers, etc.  With all that done moving them back in for a couple days isn't a big deal.

Ah, yes!  Natural gas is the most economic way to heat anything.

Hello, will the plants grow better and faster if you leave them inside the greenhouse in summer or They like it outside the greenhouse in summer weather?

They will grow better outside with far fewer insect problems.

Yes, they probably would grow better/faster in the greenhouse, but it is difficult to maintain them with the greenhouse packed full of plants.   Right now I have way too many containers.  I am waiting to get fruit from a lot of them to see which are the best, and I will get rid of the excess ones and keep my favorite types in the greenhouse.
