Help finding a nursery for large citrus trees in central fl
« on: February 26, 2019, 10:56:52 AM »
Can anybody tell me a nusurey that has a good selection of 30 gallon plus citrus trees. I want to get a satsuma mandarin and a good juicing orange. I live in Brevard fl and the nurtures don’t have any and all said they might get 1-2 of an unknown type in mid to late March. I called a couple in east Orlando and they told me to check Lowe’s and Home Depot. Checking around they might have one large but is normally a grape fruit. Any recommendations please! I’m off work this week and have the time to drive somewhere and hour or so away if needed.

I was at a home depot in east orlando today and saw plenty of trees that were at least 4 feet tall. Looked like they had plenty of varieties. I do not recall if they had a satsuma but I saw at least a few oranges. Some of the trees had fruit on them. I was pretty impressed. Made me wonder if it's worth the shot to try and avoid citrus greening:/

I'd go out to Green's nursery http://www.greensnursery.com/ They will likely have something for you.

There's a place in Fort Pierce called Nelsons Family Farm. Not sure how far it is? They have very large citrus and supply most large nuseries in the area including Excalibur.

Greens selection of citrus is poor and I go there quite often  because the mango selection is great

Pokeys in Zellwood has a lot of trees for sale on 441

Citrus has moved toward Bartow and Polk County should still have a eouple nurseries left

Brevard Fruit club will have its sale in Melbourne in April and they will have citrus there

Yes its tough to find what your looking for here sometimes. I just stopped at
3 different places today looking for a lime and couldn't find the type I want.
I figure I'll take a drive south sat or sunday.

Just google it honestly. There are 3-4 large nurseries that will sell retail around Orlando.
