I have a few mango and avocado trees in pots that are ready to move to larger pots, my understanding up to this point has been that I should wait until spring, but I have recently read posts on here that say the winter is all about root growth. I'm wondering if I should re-pot now to get a jump on root growth in new containers. I'm in 10b, really close to the water, so I'm not in any big (or even small) risk of a freeze. Is the root-growth in winter info I've been reading correct?

I usually repot during winter or late winter then prune.
Spring they'll explode with growth.
