In san diego, I have a cherimoya thats been sitting on the tree since spring, when the tree flowered. At what time of year is it ready to be picked?

Depends on the variety, how much it’s grown and other factors. They usually turn from green to light green or yellowish green when they are ripe. You will also notice that the Fruit stops expanding prior to the color change.
