Mexican garcinias??

This is supposed to be one of the best garcinias to grow in CA or FL...where the mangosteen won't do well...but where we still yearn for a good garcinia!

thanks for offering these amazing seeds Luc!

Hey luc, did we ever find out if the Mexican mangosteen is self fruitful? I'm wondering if the flowers are hermaphrodite or male and female.

Luc, I would like to buy 20 limoncillo seeds. Do you think you could send them along with Eugenia matosii seeds, or will it take too long for matosii fruits to ripe?

BTW, last time I had 100% germination rate on limoncillo :)

According to my notes the E. matosii fruits ( normally ) from April trough June , from now on I am also taking note of the flowering time of the year .
Where do they have to be sent ?

Well, in this case I think it would not possible to ship them together, but separate...

Simon , so far all the trees that I know produce fruit so I guess no male and female needed.

Simon and all , today I talked to a ' Very Old Timer ' in the village and he confirmed also that there are no male and females , all the trees produce .
I must have eaten a few hundred fruits so far this year , all super sweet , a real delight .

I think all the rheedias, except maybe for one, have hermaphrodite flowers, and male flowers. Luc's plant is really a rheedia, or new world garcinia. So all those so called garcinias from the america's are self pollinating, except for maybe one exception.
