I'm getting some seeds from I believe Helton(bananasraras) soon? It was a group order with David, when he posted about it last week. This Eugenia is supposed to be a small shrub like bush only growing between 50cm-1m in height. Fruiting in 1-2 years and have taste similar like dragon fruit and persimmons. On their original site says cherry/persimmons? So has anyone grown/have this Eugenia and can talk a little more about it? But here's a little more info about it, from their site http://www.bananasraras.org/frutasrarasingles/eugenia9.htm

Hi gang,
I'm looking for the following passion fruit cuttings panama red, sweet sunrise, and purple possum passion fruit cuttings. I know the mentions, all are recommended for zone 10 and up, but I would love to try growing them anyways. On GW a member in Fl zone 9a, has a fruiting vine that looks fully mature on a fence line, so I figured, if i'm a bit warmer than they are, why not give it a try. And if they could grow a vine then maybe I can too. ;) ;D So if anyone has the following, please let me know, would love to get some cuttings.

Have posted this same issue before on a different site and didn't get any answers. So i'm going to resort to begging now :-[  I wanted to try fresh star fruit before I decide to buy a tree to grow. I've only tried store bought ones that weren't very good. I don't want to base my whole judgement on only one bad experience, so what i'm asking is, if any fellow members have a tree of good tasting fruits that have loads and loads of fruits that they can't eat all and can spare to send me some to try I would be most appreciative. If you have several different cultivar, you can send a few samples of each one would be great too. I'll pay postage. And if they aren't in season yet, I can wait for them if someone is willing to send me some. Looking forward to hearing from you guys.

Recipes / Green papaya salad and green mango salad
« on: May 30, 2013, 03:24:00 PM »
Don't know what to do with unripe green papaya or mango, make green mango or papaya salad. Both are so good and goes well with lots of bbq meats or as I simply like it with sticky rice and pork rinds or cracklins, mmmm a complete meal for me for sure. Very refreshing and spicy but also very pungent. But don't let that fishy, fermented aroma scare you from trying this delicious southeast Asian dish. There are lot's of variation to this dish from different regions (Laos, Thailand, Vietnam) try it and you'll be hook unless you can't get over that smell.

Hi, i'm new here, but long time lurker and I mail order these two Taiwanese guavas? from a nursery down in southern Cali last year and was told they are varieties from Taiwan. They are still small, about a 1 1/2 years old and 1' tall cuttings. Does anyone know or grow these two varieties to know how the fruit quality is like ie. crunchy or soft, sweet or bland, etc. I don't know how to post pictures yet, but have the link from the nursery's site attached. They are the first and 3rd pictures on the top row(pearl and emperor guavas)
